"Astro" Watercolour Collection
In 2025, Julie Vigneron launches Astro, a series where aesthetics meet purpose.
While her artistic practice has long centred on protecting all living beings, she now weaves in a social dimension by responding to the call of Les 111 des Arts de Lille — an initiative uniting artists and solidarity to support research against paediatric cancer and bring comfort to hospitalised children.
Her submission revolves around a collection of watercolour paintings inspired by the zodiac. Each piece pays tribute to the energy of an astrological sign and its element — a theme she had already explored through an illustrated oracle project that marked a turning point in her journey towards becoming a full-time artist and professional illustrator.
The event’s specific requirements — a square 20 × 20 cm format and no glass framing — prompted her to reinvent her compositions and explore new forms of presentation, while remaining faithful to her chosen medium: traditional watercolour, rich in pigments and delicately worked on paper.
